`I love the Blue Lake Trail System in Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Washington State. Not many people there, except on the dirt bike trails; I wasn't confident enough to go starkers, but I did wear just a bikini and hiking boots during the warm part of the day at lower elevations. Needed to dress warmly at the high elevations and at night, though. Once I got into those high, subalpine meadows, the clouds prevented my seeing any views; but the fall foliage more than made up for it. The Pacific Northwest is mostly evergreens lower down; but in the subalpine, those small shrubs are every bit as bright in fall as the New England woods. And there is always the chance to see wildlife, too -- I followed the tracks of a bobcat for miles along the trail.
