Accidentally sold friends to sailors I used to buy and sell goods from sailors. I also had some friends who were curious what it was like on board one of the factory freezer trawlers and what were the sailors like. So I just told them they should come with me next time. So the 4 of us went up the gang-plank and met the sailor on watch that day. He didn't English and I didn't speak his language either, so I was just mentioning to him that these girls were wondering what it was like onboard the ship and I was just taking them there to look(all the while gesturing back and forth between the girls and the sailor and the ship) The sailor offers a grunt and a nod of his head so as to indicate that we follow him. We ended up in the captains cabin where the three girls(all 17 yrs old-ish)sat down upon the bunk. The capt then started plying me with pins from around the world. I then noticed that there were sailors all coming into the cabin all gawking at the girls like a starving Ethiopian staring at a buffet table. It then dawned on me (I was younger then so as such my stupidity was more notable)that I may have done something wrong here. BUT!! I am quite proud of the fact that I managed to talk our way off the ship without getting knifed. To talk a group of sailors who were not going to see any woman for the next year or two, to give up their chance at the peole they thought were their prostitutes bought and paid for, without any fuss is actually quite a feat
